Major Human Threats to Ecosystems
You've heard the buzzwords by now. "Climate change, pollution, deforestation, etc". What do they actually mean, and what can we do to actually make a difference?
Overexploitation
The continuous overexploitation of natural habitats decreases the space for species to live, feed, and reproduce. Converting forests and wetlands for agriculture or urban development is leading to decreased species biodiversity and therefore the lack of species that can bounce back after rising environmental shifts.
Pollution
The contamination from humans is a primary example of the damaging effects we have on the environment. Usage of plastics, industrial waste, chemical runoff not only contaminates wildlife habitats, but leads to damaging effects on our own health.
Worsening Conditions
Rising temperatures and extreme weather events are rapidly changing the Earth's ecosystems, without letting those species have a chance to adapt. This is causing more and more species to reach the verge of extinction with no chance of bouncing back.

1. Reach Students
Gen-Z is a generation fighting for change. The issue is that we don't have a platform or the resources to really make a change. By focusing on helping individuals become more educated and utilizing social media, we are able to create a space for students to share their voice and advocate for causes that matter to them.
2. Provide Easy to Use Resources
We provide numerous resources for students to go out and make a difference in their communities. Whether you are an individual looking to make a change from your bed, or you are an activist looking to lead initiatives, we provide the resources to assist, making it easier for you to do what it really is your passionate about (and not worry about gathering everything you need)
3. Reach Communities
Our best chance at combating the growing issues is by uniting as a group to call out issues. We hope to build communities that are passionate about solving current threats to our environment, then provide them with resources to grow awareness about the human impact and what we can each do to change.

At Our Green World, we care about keeping the Earth green and stopping the extinction of animals, one step at a time. We want to spread awareness of the environment and encourage people to be more 'green'. By doing so, we at Our Green World hope that future generations can have a greener, more beautiful world than today. Offering fun challenges and newsletters, we try to help conserve the environment while (we hope) having fun at the same time! We want to show that anyone can make a difference! We hope that we inspire others to help the environment and make a difference too.
